Are you having water problems near your chimney? Have you had roofing companies out who didn’t fix the problem? Masonry chimneys absorb water like a sponge. Once they have reached their maximum capacity, water will leak into the interior of the home. The picture above was taken several hours after it had stopped raining. In the picture, you can see the in area that are still wet there is moss growing. If your chimney is holding enough water to support plant life, it’s a problem. The simplest and cheapest fix for something like this would be the application of a commercial grade water repellent. If you have moss on your chimney, or have a water problem near the chimney call to schedule a chimney inspection.
