Chimney Services Across Delaware County and the Main Line

Your fireplace, gas boiler, furnace, and water heater all rely on a chimney or flue to safely vent fumes out of your home. When that venting system is neglected, you lose efficiency and you can put your household at risk of carbon monoxide exposure, water damage, and chimney fires. Lou Curley’s Chimney Service has been delivering full-service chimney services across Delaware County and the Main Line for decades, with a team that holds certifications through the CSIA, NFI, and F.I.R.E.

Whether you need a routine chimney sweeping in Havertown, a level 2 inspection before closing on a Bryn Mawr home, or a full flue relining for an oil boiler in Media, our certified technicians handle the full range of chimney services. We do not perform gas fireplace repairs, but for masonry chimneys, fireplaces, and the venting systems serving your home’s heating appliances, our chimney repair services cover everything from a quick sweeping to a multi-day Ahren-Fire restoration.

Why Regular Chimney Service Matters

Stop Water From Quietly Wrecking Your Masonry

A damaged liner or unprotected crown lets moisture into the brick and mortar. Once water gets in, freeze and thaw cycles do the rest. Mortar joints recede, bricks spall, and what could have been a routine repair becomes a full restoration. Catching the problem during an annual inspection keeps the repair small and keeps your chimney standing for the long haul.

Keep Carbon Monoxide Out of Your Living Space

Gaps in the venting system give carbon monoxide an easier path into the house. It has no color and no odor, and the early symptoms look like the flu. Hundreds of Americans die from CO exposure every year and thousands end up in the ER. Properly sized, properly lined flues vent the gases where they belong, which is outside. Carbon monoxide detectors on every floor are a non-negotiable backup.

Block the Path From Flue to Framing

The whole point of a flue liner is to keep extreme heat away from the wood framing that surrounds your chimney. When that liner cracks or was never installed in the first place, you have a direct heat path between combustion and combustibles. A relined, well-maintained chimney puts a tested barrier between the fire and the rest of the house.

Control Creosote Before It Controls You

Every wood fire produces creosote. You cannot stop that. What you can do is keep it from building to the point where a single spark can start a chimney fire. The NFPA recommends an annual chimney inspection and a cleaning when buildup hits one-eighth of an inch. That is the standard we work to.

Why Homeowners Across Delaware County and the Main Line Trust Lou Curley’s Chimney Service

Lou Curley is PA’s first CSIA Master Chimney Sweep, and our employee Dave Curley also holds CSIA Master Chimney Sweep certification. Across the team we maintain certifications through the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), the National Fireplace Institute (NFI), and Fireplace Investigation, Research, and Education Services (F.I.R.E.). Continuing education is not a one-time event for us. We keep up with code changes, new liner technologies, and updated NFPA guidance because the alternative is doing yesterday’s work on today’s homes.

We also carry an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and we are the chimney company that local HVAC contractors and real estate agents call when they need an honest assessment for their own clients. We work in Drexel Hill, Springfield, Media, Wayne, Newtown Square, Havertown, Broomall, Radnor, Villanova, Bryn Mawr, and the surrounding Delaware County and Main Line communities. If you are inside our service area, we can help.
