The oldest estate in Broomall is the Thomas Massey House, which was built in 1696 and added onto in the 1730s, then again in 1860. The home was originally owned by Thomas Massey, a Quaker who settled here. It was donated to Marple Township in 1964 to avoid destruction. The full restoration of the home took approximately 10 years, but the efforts were well worth it. The home is elegantly furnished and open to the public for tours between April and October.
